Body skincare beyond moisturizer: the four products you are missing

by Sofia Marini ·

We spend 80% of our skincare budget on the face and ignore the 90% of skin below the neck. In 2026 body skincare finally caught up with face skincare — actives, exfoliants, targeted treatments. Here are the four products worth adding.

First: a body exfoliant with chemical actives, not just a sugar scrub. A lotion with 10% glycolic or 5% lactic acid used twice a week smooths keratosis pilaris on the upper arms, prevents back acne, and brightens elbows and knees in two weeks. Second: a vitamin C body serum for the chest and hands — the two areas where sun damage shows first and that no SPF ever quite reaches consistently.

A 10% L-ascorbic acid in a body-appropriate texture, applied every morning, reverses years of accumulated photo-aging. Third: a peptide-rich neck cream that you also use on hands. The neck has half the oil glands of the face and ages 2x faster; the hands age faster still.

A single tube covering both creates a routine you actually do. Fourth: a foot cream with 25% urea, applied before bed and slept in socks twice a week. Cracked heels disappear in three weeks.

Total spend: $80 to $150 for a year of supply, depending on brand tier. Total time added: under three minutes a day. The face routine is already in place — just extend it.

Skin under the neck will never thank you out loud, but the photos will.
